Our Students
Elmdale Public School is currently home to 506 students, all enrolled in the Early French Immersion program. Students represent several countries and languages spoken include English, French, Chinese, Thai, Hindi, Japanese, Spanish and Arabic. Graduating students from Elmdale Public School, usually go to Fisher Park/Summit Alternative Public School
Our Staff
Elmdale Public School has a talented and caring staff of 40 members, whose specialties include English as a Second Language, French as a Second Language, Special Education, Reading and Music. The staff includes a mix of seasoned and new professionals who all work together on a variety of committees to promote student achievement and enhance school life. The educational team is led by a full time principal and half-time vice-principal. The non-teaching staff includes a full-time educational assistant, a part-time library technician, a chief custodian and 3 evening custodians. a full-time office administrator and a part-time office assistant.
Our Community
Elmdale benefits greatly from the energy and dedication of an active School Council and enthusiastic volunteers who collectively log thousands of hours annually. In addition, graduates, retired staff and community volunteers work with staff to support student learning and enhance programs. Elmdale houses a Mothercraft kindergarten and school-aged program in the building. On occasion, we make use of the wider community facilities such as the outdoor skating rink at Fisher Park or nearby Hampton Park. Various community organizations make use of our facility after hours.
